Also, check with the FBI (Tampa, FL and NYC), NYC Police Dept., Better Business Bureau (NY), Consumer Affairs (NY), Attorney General's Office (NY & FL), and follow up with the victims who have listed their names and contact.
The stories regarding Leeways are TRUE. I know this because they destroyed most of my belongings totalling about $48,000.00, held our property hostage, demanded more than twice the contract amount IN CASH (BEFORE delivery), threatened us, defecated and urinated in & on my children's toys and clothes, vandalized, beyond repair, MOST of our property.
When and ONLY when, Josh, Erica, the "movers" & Co., realized that I had contacted the FBI, the NYC Police, Better Business Bureau, Consumer Affairs, Attorney General's Office in FL, Department of Transportation (because their liscence was revoked and they threw away our Bill of Lading, Inventory Lists, Agricultural Check Lists etc.), AND the local and state police, along with the FBI, were literally in their face and warned that if they left the premises with my property they would all be arrested... They had NO CHOICE but to FINALLY deliver my items, (which they refused to bring inside but threw them on the lawn, in the street, in my yard and driveway).
The delivery finally happened with the local and state police warning the "movers" along with the State Attorney general's Office that they had to unload or be arrested. This "delivery" took place a week late; (a week after the date stated in the contract, therefore breeching the contract). When Leeways finally were forced to deliver our items, some, not all, our items were delivered. The items delivered were totalled.in addition, only 3 VERY SMALL RENTED TRUCKS (Penske) arrived at our new destination, not the THREE VERY LARGE WHITE Leeways Trucks that origannly left our previous home with our property.
Again, Leeways/Josh, ONLY delivered these items that had been urinated, deficated and vandalized beyond repair in three VERY small rented trucks AFTER and ONLY AFTER the police detained Leeways'/Josh's movers and told them they were not leaving without unloading the trucks; otherwise they were all going to jail and one of them had already been taken to jail where he had a bail of $10,000.00. This is the ONLY reason some of my now destroyed propery was finally delivered.
While my local and state police surrounded these "movers?" (there is no name for so called "people" like this), the police checked Leeways' movers' IDs and most of them were fake (fake names etc.) and one of the movers got arrested on the spot because he had a warrant for his arrest for stealing personal checks (hence, the $10,000.00 bail).
BEWARE: Erica phoned me (same voice that is on their answering machine and person who answers by the name of Erica at Leeways), claiming to want to "help" because her conscience was "killing her" and she wanted to inform me that Josh "does this type of thing" to everyone and then continued to give me a couple of names that have been Leeways victims also. I contacted one of those individuals and the so called victim do not appear on the "up & up". The "victim" was only interested in knowing how I was going to respond to what Leeways had done to my family and I; the "victim" was not interested in sharing her information on what they had done to her and what steps she was taking to "resolve" this. Because of this, I believe this "victim" was Erica herself, or someone working with Josh, trying to find out what I was doing about their disgusting behavior in order to pursue their threats against my family and I.
Filing a claim with Leeways is a JOKE.
Good luck filing claims with ANY insurance company! We have MET LIFE for our "moving protection insurance" and now they too are scamming us by asking us to "PROVE WHEN, WHERE, AND HOW" Leeways "vandalized" our property; when we asked Met Life HOW would they like us to PROVE LEEWAYS vandalised our items with malicious intent, they all stated (all three different managers), that they do not know HOW we can prove it but that we have to prove it. When we asked what is vandalism in THEIR definition, they could not answer that simple question directly either; only that it was not vandalism and that we have to prove it. When we asked what IS vandalism, they could not give a direct answer to that either. Don't forget, this is even AFTER MET LIFE'S claims adjuster took several disk loads of pictures in addition to the several disk loads of pictures we gave the adjuster (including pictures revealing the manner in which our items arrived). Now Met Life wants us to PROVE it was vandalism with malicious intent... Now I ask you, we paid Leeways by the cubic foot, why in the world would we pay Leeways for THREE LARGE TRUCKLOADS of vandalized, broken beyond repair, deficated and urinated items, to be moved accross the country? Our property? My childrens' toys and clothing? If urinating and deficating on childrens' toys and clothing is not vandalism with malicious intent, then what is?! Not to mention, new, top of the line refrigerators, microwave ovens, four post beds, beaten to a pulp... Just to name a few!
Being well informed, will put them out of business... At least for a while... Until they change the company's name and move on... BEWARE, AVOID, and if you or anyone you know is moving... Remember, Leeways can and will change thier company name! RESEARCH, INVESTIGATE and if ABY LITTLE THING, NO MATTER HOW MINUTE, sounds "off" or not "common business", LOOK ELSE WHERE!
P.S... And I am not through with Josh and Leeways... Not even close... But as everyone knows, united we stand and devided we fall... All those victimed by Leeways should unite and sue Leeways, drive them out of business and teach them the lesson they have obviously yet to be taught!
