On Tuesday July 18 my husband and I had a horrible experience with Globus Van Lines. As we were researching moving company we choose Globus because the company looked very professional and honest. We learned that Globus was the opposite of what the company promotes on the website.
On July 18 movers arrived at our home around 7:15 am. Around 12:00pm the movers became tired and started doing a sloppy job. My husband thought maybe they need a break or lunch so he let those incidents pass. After they packed our things and loaded them on a small Penske moving truck they gave us a price that was more than half of the original estimate.
At this time my husband said ok we will pay this price so we can get our things were they need to go. My husband had to pay $2,800.00. Around 9:00pm the movers arrived at our drop off location. They asked for the other half of the final cost before unloading any items from the moving truck. We paid them the other half $2,800.00. They began unloading our items.
About 10:00 the movers stated that they were tired and they would unload the rest of our items the next day. They did not want to give us any money back. They wanted to take the truck and leave with our personal belongings. We called the dispatcher (Avi) and spoke with him. Avi agreed that the movers come back tomorrow to finish the job without reimbursing my husband and me with any money.
We called the police. After calling the police Avi ordered the movers to unload all of our belongings. One of the movers stated, I will move the stuff until 12:00am and then leave because that will be another day I pointed to the print out that was sent by Jeff that stated that all items would be fully packed and dropped off in one day in addition to any drop offs within a 20 mile radius. Globus also promotes that boxes will be labeled. Nothing was labeled. The movers did not even put the boxes in the rooms that we asked.
They just dumped everything in one location (the living room). The movers stated banging our furniture against the walls because they were upset with the order to unload all of our items. Therefore we have broken items. I have precious items that are broken. Globus also promote reassembly of large items. Nothing was reassembled. My husband began to help the movers unload the truck. After my husband joined we did get the rest of our items unloaded from the truck.
All of the money we paid them to do this job my husband should not have had to lift a finger.in order for us to get our belongings we had no other choice.
Globus Van Lines needs to be put out of business. They are scam artist.
