On nov. 3 i set up an appt. With a moving company. I gave a full description of all items that were in my apt. I gave the date, time, address and destination of the move. The price for the move was for $199.00 including (3) three movers and they will be there at 11:. On nov. 4 a mover called me from a blocked number and said that they will arrive a little late and i replied thats okay. They arrived around 12:00 pm. Before looking around the apt to see all things that were being moved, two movers presented me with a contract to sign and fingerprint. I signed and fingerprinted 7 sheets. I scammed through the contract but didnt fully read word from word. After that was done the three men started wrapping some of my property in stretch wrap and then loaded their truck. Two of the movers made comments about my tvs and other property stating that oh this would look good in my living room and we're moving everything into to storage besides the tvs. But of course i thought it was just jokes and laughed it off.
after everything was loaded onto the truck i was told to follow them to the public storage where my property was due to be stored. Once we arrived at the public storage facility they drove inside the gate to my assigned storage place. As i was inside going over my reservation and contract for public storage one of the movers presented me with a moving bill of $3,339.80. I stated this was not the amount we agreed to and said i was not paying it. The movers then said that my property will be in their possession until i pay them $3,339.80 in cash. They wanted to work out a deal with me giving them some of my valuable property which were all three of my flatscreen tvs and $240.00. I said no and i called the police and all suspects were put into the incident report.
i tried contacting the movers to see if there is anything else i can do to get my property back but they dont want to negotiate. I do have a few recorded conversations with one of the movers on my phone. Also when i called the police a second time one officer identified one of the movers as being in a few situations like this before and said that he remembers his face.
i do have a incident report with all the workers names and addresses. These men scammed me and i believe the contract i signed was copied from off of the internet and scanned with their add ons. They have caused a major depression to my daughter and i. Also my business equipment was loaded onto their truck. I also have the movers truck license plate # and other number that would identify these scamming men that are getting a lot of citizens like this.
