Corporate "silos" do not communicate and victimize the customer Woodbridge Virginia

I work as a volunteer as the Finance Clerk for my church. We have 7 congregations that are all a part of a new entity that was created 4 months ago. There are a total of 12 telephone numbers for the 3 physical locations we have as houses of worship (more than one congregation shares a building).

At Verizon's suggestion we've been trying to set up a summary billing account (like a business) for the last 4 months and it has been a nightmare! The root of the problem is that 3 entities within Verizon — Sales, Billing, and Collections — each operate as their own separate world, making their own rules and not communicating with each other. The only things they have in common is the Verizon logo and the goal to make the customer suffer in the worst way possible.

We have had phone numbers on our summary bill that were not ours. Repeated attempts to get them removed have been ignored by Sales. Billing said it isn't their problem. Sales told us to not pay it but send a letter with the payment explaining the difference. However it was still sent to Collections who says, "it's not our problem — you have to pay it." This has gone on for 4 months: Billing telling us to do one thing, Collections another and both refusing to talk to each other. Both insisted that what the other was telling us was wrong but they would NOT communicate with each other.in the meantime, Sales would not change the assignment.

We tried to get new phone numbers added to our summary account. They added them to someone else's summary account and insisted that WE did it. When we insisted that we don't know anyone else's account to assign it to, only our own — they ignored it.in the meantime, they want to disconnect the lines for non-payment because they had assigned the bills to someone else's account and THEY refused to pay it.

The threatening letters we have received from Collections were total gibberish. We had a good laugh trying to read them. Whoever wrote them obviously did not have a grasp of the English language. We could not decipher what they were trying to say. One letter threatened that if we did not pay by a certain date, we would have to be billed on an annual basis every Sept. 2nd. It made no sense. The letters were also written in the first person — but never signed and there was no identification of who the individual was.
