I have to concur with the previous complaints against this horrendously mis-managed company. My particular store had a VERY OBVIOUS preference of retaining inferior store management, due to how the company as a whole manages. Which is rather poorly. The aire of superiority by the store and area managers to the obviously INFERIOR customer service personnel is OBVIOUS. Little is done for the sales person, short of cracking the whip. You sit thru a rather lengthy and inane video on the first days to "train" you, rather than much hands-on personal training. You're thrown at the archaeic, outdated, "computerized" registers with NO TRAINING, whatsoever, contrary to the REBUTTALS of some. Of course, you're also responsible for knowing how to run these registers, override codes and handle the money transactions.
In this particular store the previous SECURITY guards were caught stealing from the company. Of course, the new security guards walked around EYEBALLING the employees for any apparent violation of store policy. You get the feeling they're laying you up for a kill. Customer stealing is rampant, however, rarely prosecuted.
I'd never work at this company again in a million years. They need someone to take them over and run it like it should be run. Like, perhaps a (name removed by usacomplaints.com). Dillard's is a monopoly and a joke. If you work there, KEEP YOUR NOTES and your eyes peeled, you'll need both.
