It is now 7pm and has been TWO WEEKS and a day since my belongings were first picked up by US 1 VAN LINES in Dallas, Tx (July 31st) and shipped to the NY area (somewhere). The final destination was supposed to be Massachusetts, but I have yet to see my things.

US 1 was horrible about answering the phone and never returned messages. They told me ahead of time that my stuff would go into storage for a few days until they had enough stuff in the truck to make a trip. After SEVERAL phone calls, I was told by US 1 that the truck left from TX on the 6th and that I should call "ADAM MOVING, INC" for future information. And that's when my small headache with US 1 turned into a migrane with ADAM.

8/4/04-Arrive at my new apt.

8/6/04 US-1 talks to ADAM MOVING and they say that my stuff is going to arrive on Monday the 9th or Tuesday the 10th and that the driver should give me 24 hour notice before they arrive.

8/9/04 The driver calls my parent's house at 5pm saying that he can't get ahold of me (they have both #s). My things are to be delivered by the next morning between 8-11am. Not exactly 24 hour notice, but I'm still just pleased to hear from them seeing as how I only have the bare necessities at my place.

8/10/04 I call my brand new job that I can't come in and forfit pay for that day. Wait around and no one shows up. At 11am get a phone call from CHARLES that the truck has "broken down" and that my stuff is going to have to be "transferred onto another truck and sent from there". I have read this same exact lie from other stories on this webpage.

CHARLES states he will call later to let me know if the axle is repaired. Later that day, I am the one calling CHARLES back who states my stuff should arrive on Thursday or Friday at the Latest. CHARLES also says that he and the driver will call me 24 hrs in advance.

8/12/04 No word. Call up ADAM MOVING several times and try to reach CHARLES. He is not in the office, supposed to return at 7pm. I Leave another message. At 7pm, no word. Call up again and CHARLES has apparently left for the day. Call back tomorrow.

8/13/04 No Word. Call up CHARLES again at 3:30pm. As soon as he picks up the phone he states that the truck's axle (he mistakingly said tire for axle but then quickly corrected himself) is "miraculously" fixed and just leaving from Jersey and should be there soon because it's not a long trip. I am very angry about this whole situation and I make certain he is aware of this and his tendency to never return phone calls. He gives me his "WORD" that he will call me back between 6:30-7pm that night to see what the status is.

OF COURSE, his "word" is worth nothing and I end up calling back at 7:20pm. Secretary states that a truck is being loaded up as we speak and that CHARLES is busy with a phone call. I ask for the driver's phone number. Secretary goes to find CHARLES to get the number but when she returns states he has "amazingly" just run out the door and she couldn't catch him. When I ask to speak to a supervisor she states that the company is Jewish and will be closing at sundown, which is now and won't be open at all on Saturday. Call back Sunday.

8/15/04 No word. I call in the morning and speak with another supervisor, EDDIE. He states that my things are indeed on a trailer and should be heading to Massachusetts. He gives me the driver's number to call him for more info about arrival times. I call the driver thoughout the day and only get his voicemail. I leave him a message to call me. NO word.

I call ADAM MOVING back at 4pm and state I cannot get ahold of the driver. EDDIE states that he will try and call him now. I hear him leave a message on the driver's phone. He states he will call the company himself and "call me back" in 5 minutes. No word.

AT 4:30pm I call back and ask for EDDIE. Get put on hold for 10 minutes and disconnected and I try back. Ask for EDDIE again and get CHARLES instead. He states that he doesn't know why the shipment hasn't arrived since it was supposed to on friday. His information states the driver is coming from NY and will be calling me 48 hrs in advance before arrival. I ask how that could be since NY is only a few hours from here and things should already be loaded and set to leave right now. He states he does not know. He gives me the number for a new company EZ MOVER that has been in possession of my stuff since "the truck broke down". He assures me the driver will call.
I try the number he gives me and it is apparently not in service. I look up EZ MOVER on the internet and get their "real" number and try to call but no one answers on both lines. I try driver's number again at 6:30 pm and still no answer. So here I am, going on 16 days without my belongings in a completely new city.
If anyone has any suggestions for me then let me know. If I have to take LEGAL action or notify the attorney general then I will.
