Terry Kasmaier Bad property management for a homeowne

I am a homeowner who had the misfortune of contracting with Kittyhawk. They are rude, pushy, and won't let you talk to them, they roll all over you if you have a concern. They are condescending and tell you what you want and should think. I signed a contract on March 1, and sent the key on March 21.

All Terry did for the first month was put a sign up. I paid over $20,000 to fix my house up to make it nice for a rental, and there were no pictures of the house's interior or the square footage. I was very stressed about my relocation to Oakland, so let his patronizing, sexist remarks at our meeting slide, but greatly regret that now.

By all accounts from neighbors and prospective tenants, he did not want to rent the house to interested tenants. He put unreasonable demands on two prospective tenants, an African American woman and a woman who was so nice I ended up breaking the contract with Terry and paying him for a year of property management for him doing nothing.

He lied to me constantly. He lied to prospective tenants. People liked my house and wanted to rent it, and he made such unreasonable demands on people, such as cash only for the security deposit and first month's rent, that people felt it was a scam and he was a crook.

When a prospective tenant he turned away, who I liked so much I broke the contract to rent to directly contacted me, I asked him why he turned them away. Again, a bunch of lies, and good ol' boy longwinded stories about prospective tensnts playing the "Mommy-Daddy Game" with me. He said many lies about these people and why he did not rent to them. He said they decided not to close the deal.

I am alarmed that he would have had them sign a lease if they had the cash, without a proper background check. He also told people that I had nosy neighbors (they are all great people!), not exactly a selling point. A prospective tenant asked for a one year lease, and he said that would mean a $200 a month increase in rent. I have never in my life encountered a situation where a month to month lease was less than a longer lease.

Terry appears to have a very high opinion of himself and a very negative view of other people.

He lowered the rent on my nice 3 bedroom, 1500 square foot home without consulting with me. He lied his a* off about getting the home ready to rent, my tenants are still cleaning up after the mess he left in my house, and I know their cleaning and repairs are going to cost me. The rear doors and gates were all left unlocked and wide open, and the beautiful curtains I had at the front picture window were taken away against my wishes, I believe this was vindictive and to leave my house wide open and vulnerable to a break-in.

This was after I told him I was breaking the contract and before he got my cashiers check for everything he did and did not do just to get rid of him. Seriously, I think that is how he makes his money, alienating people and not renting their houses until they pay him off to get rid of him. He has two complaints in the BBB against him, and I plan to add a 3rd.
