Our family has rented a few different properties, from a few different property management companies. We have always received our full deposit back, and have always been on time or early paying our monthly lease. This is until we made the worse decision possible, to lease from Grizzly Property Management in Missoula, Montana.
We spent over 12 hours making sure the home was spotless.in fact, we even received an email from the company stating the carpets were the cleanest they had ever seen and that they had not seen some of the professionals do as well as we did. Yet, they also tried to charge us for basic wear and tear, like paint on a front door chipping where the sun hits it in the evenings.
Also, there was a discrepancy on our lease contract. One page stated our lease would be up on the first, another page stated our lease would be up on the fifth of the month. We called a month before and again the day before our deposit would be sent to us about this discrepancy. We were told our full deposit would be refunded on the first and that the discrepancy was their mistake.
However, we called again on the day we were supposed to receive our deposit refund and they went back on everything they had told us. They stated that everyone makes mistakes and were not going to be liable for their own and that they would be going with the farthest date out on the contract instead of what they told us originally. When we questioned this, the employee became very defensive and argumentative.
I would never lease from this company or trust my property to this company. The employees have a hard time not going back on their word, saying one thing and doing another. This includes things written into their contracts. I would suggest. We leased two properties from them with no hassle and we loved how professional and trustworthy the staff was.
Sorry, allowing you to give a competitors name would instigate others to just file against their competition, to only come back later to suggest their company. Plus, if you post a competitors name more than likely they will show up on search engines as a Rip-off! - - your comments on this policy are welcome.
