I received Gene Choe's colorful mailer advertising legal services to save your home from foreclosure. I checked their extensive website and they seemed legit.
I hired this law firm to perform a loan modification and litigation action against the bank foreclosing on my 1.3 mil home. Gene Choe charged me $20,000 in post dated checks. After several weeks and sending them countless financial documents, they called me last minute and told me to file bankruptcy to prevent the foreclosure sale of my home.
I was charged $45,000 for them to file a chapter 11 bankruptcy case on my behalf. Several more weeks go by and my case gets dismissed by the court due to failure to file timely documents by Choe's firm.in the meantime, Choe's law group attorney and his paralegal handling my case quit the firm unbeknownst to me.
My house ends up in foreclosure sale and is ultimately lost to the bank which is exactly what I hired this law firm to prevent from happening. Gene Choe has since refused to refund any retainer fees or even provide an accounting or invoice of time spent on my case. He continues to hold $50,000 of my money without explanation.
I have filed a complaint with the California Bar Association and a Motion to Disgorge Fees with the court. I have been told from insiders that Choe has multiple complaints pending against him for numerous other cases he has botched due to negligent representation.
