I Recently received my phone bill and found a $ 26.17 charge from USBI-One Call Comm company Phne # 888-474-8724 which showed that i maide a phone call to the united kingdom # 442073350525 at 2:54 A.M. On the morning of July 5th. This company tried to charge me $26.17 (Tax Included) for this call.
Neither I or any members of my household authroized this call, and the best answer I could get from USBI was that someone must of used my computer or hooked a labtop up to my phone lines and made the internet call. I dont think so, I never did this and i've researched it a little with the help of this sight and found others to have been billed the same way and I've further talked it over with a few other friends and family and found that this is not that all uncommon.
I suggest if you get a bill like this
1St: "DONT PAY IT",
2nd: contact your local phone company and advise you dispute the charge.
3rd: Contact this USBI-or one call comm or which every company you may have a problem with, because they like to change names and tell them you "WONT PAY".
4th: File a report/complaint with the FCC.
5th: Write your congerssman and explain to him what has happened and ask for changes in the laws which would forbid companies from tacking charges onto your local phone carrier bill without your authorization.
