Raised their minimums taking my bill from about $100/mo to over $700

I had used cross-check as a check guarantee service for several years. I switched from Telecheck when they raised their per location minimum fees and was told I would get one minimum fee per month for the account - not for every location. They operated as stated for over a year.in January my bill went from about $100 / mo to over $700. When I called to find out why I was told they had raised their minimums because they had added additional services. The minimum was charged for all locations, not just one. I cancelled the service and requested a refund of the increased costs charged. The request was denied.

In addition, they said the contract required 30 days notice so they charged the increased costs for part of the next month. Their billing method is direct debit from your corporate checking account. I spoke to my bank about blocking the charge and was told I would have to add a feature that would cost me $35/month to be able to only allow pre-authorized ACH charges.

I had considered dropping this company previously when they refused to pay up on a series of checks we had been given in several of our stores for purchases of welding cable. The checks were drawn on an account that had been closed. They denied them because the fine print in the contract says that they are not responsible for fraudulent checks. We apparently have to make sure it's a valid check drawn on a legitimate bank account.

Stay away from this company.
