We consigned a rather expensive antique doll to Theriault's to be auctioned earlier this year. We watched the auction online, and our doll sold for over $18,000. Our contract with Theriault's stated we would be paid in 35 business days after the sale, after deduction of a commission of 25%. All of Theriault's expenses would be covered by their commission; there would be no other deductions from our net proceeds.
Since the auction we have heard NOTHING from Theriault's, except one time when we were able to get through to one person named Nellie on our 5th call after the payment deadline had passed. Nellie told us we should be getting our payment "within a week". That was about a month ago.
We never even got a written notification that the doll had sold. The only way we would have known is by watching the auction online. We have called and left messages 6 times since that one conversation with Nellie. We've never gotten a return call—or payment for our doll.
