My family traveled to TN. On the week of Thanksgiving. We were staying at the Embasy Suites but wanted to lower the per day cost so we went to Candlewood suites to save 15.00 per day. The first sign that something was wrong with this hotel chain was when the hotel clerk metioned two or three times that the rooms are not cleaned regularly. But assured us that once a week the room would be overly cleaned, sheets, towels, etc.

That day never came after complaining to the so called manager David Bixby and asking him to please have the room cleaned he felt it would be more appropriate to argue with me that we had the no service sign on, which was so not true. I said look please just leave me the supplies and we will clean our room. Everytime I brought up to Mr David Bixby to clean my room he would start to argue with me. When we asked for towels, the manager said that we did not have the proper amount of towels to swap them out. Anything to do with cleaning was a hassle there.

The next day I recieved a package. When I went up to the front desk I said to Mr. Bixby we have been here for 10 days and you have charged my debit card so many charges and authorizations that we are trying to figure this out. He replied by saying we are asking you to leave. I was in shock to say the least, our Expedtion was in the shop and I have 4 computers with nowhere to put them.

When I tried to talk to Mr. Bixby he said he understood and he will call me a cab. We have since stayed at a cleaner friendlier hotel. Candlewood is filthy and I have a feeling that the excessive charges will be contested even though there is no room services here.

The plumming clogged 3x and the front desk clerk came after we called the front several times, the girl from the front!!! They were doing work in the next room. The hammering started early in the morning. This is a poorly run hotel to say the least.

The first day at Candlewood they said we had $80 in candy bar charges which they finally did take off. This is a hotel I would stay clear of. It is truly discusting. They authorized my debit card sometimes 3 times in one day and said it's only an authorization but the charges started posting. They would not go over the bill with us. We are here with our 1 and a half pound dog (a tiny Min Pin that is almost 9 years old, housebroken with bad knees and can't jump all over everything) and he said that the dog was damaging the hotel room. He just wanted to harrass us. No one picks up their dog's mess outside and you will step in it if you are not careful. Nothing gets cleaned or taken care of there. We asked him to come and show us where any damage was from our dog and he refused. I am know going to report to Expedia and every vacation site I can.

If this stops you from staying at this dirty place then I am happy to asssist you. Embassy suites is well worth a few more dollars with a friendly staff, clean room and free breakfast.
