I, too, arranged a move with Atlantic Moving Systems. The check for $844.50 cleared the bank. Then one day I received a call from Orie Moore, letting me know Atlantic had closed its doors. Orie told me that a bunch of employees from Atlantic quit and started their own moving company.
Orie said they would handle the move for me for the balance due. He would not give me company name or phone # where I could reach him, but said to give him a few days and he would get back to me.
I never heard from him again. The number on my phone was 305-949-8004. It just continually rings. According to the contract, I can cancel the move, by certified mail, up to 7 days before the scheduled date and my deposit will be refunded. I sent the certified letter.
To my surprise it was delivered and signed for by someone with the last name of "Hausfeld". Who this really is-I don't know. Today I called the # (888-966-8377) for Allied Moving Services. I asked to speak to Joe Mangiafico or Orie Moore and was told they did not work there. "Mel" said the company was not affilated with Atlantic Moving Systems. He said Allied was owned by a woman named Jessica. Eli Ashkenazi's wife's name.
