Jill Petty steals from her clientsI met Jill Petty, owner of Liscot Enterprises at a social function at Marymount High school in Los Angeles. Jill convinced my wife she was an experienced business consultant with 40 years of retail marketing expertise. I wanted her to set up a gift shop for my daughter Carolyn who lost her husband while he was serving in Afghanistan. Jill said she would act as our consultant, mentor my daughter, and perform as Carolyns store financial officer for $15,000, which was her annual consulting fee. Jill agreed to stock the store, help Carolyn hire the right help, and find a suitable location.
Unfortunately the entire business deal turned out to be one big fraud and rip off. Carolyn had to file for bankruptcy because of the advice she received from Jill Petty. After an extensive forensic accounting we learned Jill bought store items and resold them to us at a higher price. She received a kick back from a commercial realtor for placing us in the commercial location, which turned out to be a disaster because they closed a freeway exit, and one of the people hired for sales took merchandise from the store.
The store closed within 9 months of its opening. When confronted with her conduct, Jill remarked business is business.
Mrs. Petty has an excellent social reputation in Los Angeles. Unfortunately it was bought and paid for with her husbands money. Dont hire Jill Petty for any business deal, she will deal behind your back.
