Turn every one of these complaints in to the fcc. They will drop the disconnect fee when the fcc gets on them. Fcc, search the web don't stop until you find it. There is relief for you people. I found it and got it. I spent hours on the phone with the alltel idiots trying to figure out how they could just lie to you about the initial contract then hold you responsible for the disconnect fee. They over billed my first bill.
Which happened to come a month late so i wouldn't have time to dispute before the disconnect fee. Told me my plan was free long distance and roaming - it wasn't had to pay more for each phone to "upgrade" to that plan. Jerked me around for a little over a year. Said nothing to me when i signed up about a disconnect fee, or a two year contract. Lied about everything. Finally i just told them to shut my service off. "oh you'll pay the disconnect fee" they told me. I told them to shove it and e-mailed the fcc with my complaint. Asked for all my money back for every month i paid the thieves.
Within two weeks i got a letter from the fcc, then a letter from alltel saying they would waive the disconnect fee if i stopped the complaint. I must have waisted my time 20 phone calls trying to reason with those idiot telemarketing type customer service reps at alltel. Their job has to really suck! And they all defend that stupid company.
Fcc people - it works! I won't ever forget what they did to me, and i won't ever forget to write alltel sucks every where - to save people just like us!
