Cingular Wireless
Rips off again South Holland

I got my sevice in october via the phone... They shipped me a phone that I didn't want but b/c it was a contract via phone I would have to mail it back to where they placed the order from, then wait for them to send me a new one. The phone wasn't much different from the one I wanted so I just kept that one.

Next I was paying for internet service and continued to have problems getting on-line via my cell phone. At least 6 different csm's proceded to walk me through the set-up process that took at least 20-30 min.intervals. Finally they had me call the salesperson that processed my contract (due to over the activation via the phone) which then lead to him sending me to a store with an on-site tech. Once there the tech proceded to "fiddle around" with my phone since he also had no clue as to why I could not access the internet. After about 40 min. He manage to fix the problem with out any idea of how or why it worked at present opposed to earlier, needless to say it was only temporary so I just terminated internet access.

Finally due to unforseen bills I was delinquent on my cell bill
I made a couple of small payments trying to maintain service but was unable to pay for about a month... This lead to the service being suspended. Now with no phone service I did not rush to pay, but to my disbelief my bill kept rising. I believe it was due to my continuation of service since I had a 2 yr contract but I soon found out otherwise. Eventually I was able to pay (2 months after the suspension), at that time, I was told my service would resume if I payed in full. Now by this time my previous $212 bill had grown to $468... Plus they had just sent me to a collections agency. So with the belief of resuming service I payed and awaited phone activation... The csm told me she was having problems and would call me back. When she didn't call back I call cingular the next day which in short lead them to tell me that they had terminated my service charged me the $150 termination fee and if I wanted service again I'd have to pay the collections agency 18% of my bill ($85), pay a $150 deposit, and buy a new sims card ($30-$50)! All this was more than I payed in the first place with no credit... Plus I still had the phone I never really wanted! Needless to say I chalked this up to experience and will never work with cingular again or due things via the phone if in-person is an option.
