I purchased a Sony camera from hhgregg on December 5th and asked the sales person if the camera could be returned and he stated that the unit could be returned within 14 days or if it was for Christmas within 30 days after Christmas. Within a week of purchase, I realized that the product was not going to work for me so I tried to return it on December 13. Much to my surprise, I was told by the manager that I would have to pay a restocking fee of 20% of the cost. This was never mentioned when I talked with the salesperson about the return policy. The camera was returned with the sales receipt, within 14 days of purchase, and with all original packing materials, accessories, product literature and warranty cards. I am confused by the restocking fee charge.
There was no satisfactory explanation from JameKeya Myles, the manager. Needless to say, it is not worth spending approximately $80 to return the camera, so I am left with a camera that does not meet my needs.
