This installer of tile seems reasonable at 1st, shows you how concerned he is about installation, reinforcing the floors and getting the proper equipment. The contract he provides states one year warranty. He wanted 20% down after 1st day -reasonable as 20% of the work was done, and full payment upon completion. He still asked for money along the way but as it was getting done, you think your trusting him so you give him more.
Then at tile completion, he states its done - no theres few things left but he states he will be back in few days and wrap it up anyway so the wants the whole balance. He keeps promising to come but never does, then his phone number doesnt work and never answers emails again when you try to contact him. Found his internet posting which state how reliable he is and trying to build his business.
You have to hire another person to complete his job.
Inspection result: A tile inspector reviewed the job and stated that some tile are out of level to each other, some of the floor was not corrected to be level, backerboard mud splashed on moulding, and wrong size backerboard raised the floor enough where lot of additional moulding and cost had to be used to trim out the floor.
