My story is similar to the previous complaints. I originally signed a contract for installation of hurricane shutters on my Florida condo on March 12 with a $3,000 down payment. On April 12 rolladen demanded an additional payment of another $3,000 to begin installation (total of almost 60% of cost of entire job). Following almost a year and scores of telephone calls in my futile attempts at securing installation, I cancelled my contract with for nonperformance. I repeatedly requested the return of my deposit money and was refused. Luckily for me, I successfully filed a dispute with my credit card company and was successful in getting my deposit returned on April 12.
I have since contracted with another company and surprise, I now have my shutters and they were completely installed with permits and inspections within 2 weeks.
But surprise, in todays mail I received a DEMAND for payment from Rolladen in the amount of $6872. And threatening legal action if I do not pay. I am stunned, add insult to injury, they never completed installation of a single shutter!
