Ripoff selling consumer protection to elderly

Elation Publication, Bobby Drakes, Customer Service manager, phoned my 83 year old mother who has dementia and "sold" her a Consumer Privacy package the last of January.

They talked her into giving them her checking account number and tried to take $398.00 out of her account with and ACH withdrawal. Since my mother is pro to this activity I had placed an ACH hold on her account. When the withdrawal was refused Elation Publication issued a Phone Check on her account with a fictious check number and no signature. The bank cashed the check.

When contacted (after at least 20 - 30 calls with messages left on an answering machine with no response) Mr. Bobby Drakes said he would talk to his supervisor. Three weeks later and still no response to messages left on machine, I was able to reach Mr. Drakes by pushing different numbers on the phone. He said they would return the money but said I should have the Bank refund the money first. He also wanted the merchandise returned but it has been seven weeks and still nothing has been delivered.

It has been over a week since I last contacted them and have sent two letters, one was returned. I will let you know if they respond to my request.in the mean time I have filed a complaint with the Attorney General in Massachutes and have filed a fraudulent check charge through the Bank.
