The beginning when I signed onto Ipayment, I had a contract
and a woman who said my rate will be. 55% with NO interchange rate. This was
hard to believe in the beginning so I asked 'Are you sure?' YES, was the
response. She even crossed out the interchange rate on the contract. I signed
and got my machine with no instructions or anything. I started putting charges
on it and I get hit with a fee for PCI Compliance charge $129 dollars. I found
out that PCI Compliance charge is a complete bogus and it's to raise Ipayment's
profit margin.
Then I was hit with $25 because no one told me I had to go and
do this PCI compliance thing. I've been in the business for 15 years and using
credit cards for 15 years as well and NOT ONE TIME do I need to fill out some
PCI compliance form and charge an annual MAINTENANCE FEE, which was crossed out
as well on my application, but IPayment would not honor the refund, they said
it's a mandatory fee! Then I was hit with an overlimit fee of $461 when my
total card charges were $450. I am completely livid because it does not state
in my contract of any fee and I specifically asked the customer service woman
if i will be charged an overlimit fee if i go over my monthly limit. She said
no, so i signed the contract.
In the effort to eliminate the overlimit fee, I then increased my monthly limit (which was
unheard of, credit card companies LOVE when we go over our monthly limit, more
money for them) but then YET AGAIN! I was charged a $547 overlimit fee. They
would not refund that fee EITHER! So I cancelled IPayment and went with First
data. Today, I found out that IPayment charged me $350 cancellation fee. I
called and said my application specifically states 'NO CANCELLATION FEE'.. The
woman on the phone was VERY VERY unpleasant and she wound up Hanging up on me.
I would never EVER recommend IPayment to ANYONE!
They are a complete fraud and a disappointment.
