Totally Disgusted with MCI Wireless rip off

I have been an MCI WirelessCom customer for four years. Their service since November has been pitiful. First, they stopped sending me any bills without any notification.

After four months of not knowing what was going on, and not being able to get through their Customer Service Dept., they started sending bills every three weeks.

They said this would bring my account and their bookeeping to current levels. It did not. Then they started to send letters notifying me that they would be sending me back-to-back bills, to ignore the first bill, but pay the second one, and this would bring me up to date.

It did not. Then they started to send bills at random without a detailed listing of my call activities. Enclosed with these bills was a note that if I wanted a detailed listing of my calls, I should request them via e-mail for "faster service." The note also said that copies of the call detail would be sent to me within 20 days.

I tried calling their Customer Service numerous times, and it is nearly impossible. Sometimes they make you go through the prompts, only to have a computerized voice tell you that all operators are busy, and to try the call later. Other times, after being kept on hold up to 45 minutes, a live person would answer only to tell me that the computers were down, and to call back later.

Finally, I had enough of MCI Wireless and on Friday, October 26, after trying several times to get through, I told them to cancel my service. On November 8th, at their suggestion, I sent them an e-mail requesting that they send me my itemized list of calls so that I can send them one last payment and be rid of them for good.

Remember, MCI had said to request these lists via e-mail for "faster service." Today, December 11, I get a note from their Collection Dept. Stating that 1) I owe them money, and 2) they discontinued my service as of Dec. 10 (6 weeks after I cancelled myself!).

Needless to say, I was irate and called them immediately. I told them that 1) I, not them, had cancelled my service due to their total incompetence; 2) I cancelled on October 26th, therefore, what did it mean that they cancelled me on Dec. 10?

Was my request for cancellation not processed effective October 26th? 3) I asked them how dare they send me a bill from their Collections Dept. When they haven't sent me any bills since Sept. 12th; and I sent an e-mail requesting a list of my calls on Nov. 8th and I have still not received it.

Their response was not surprising given their outrageous behavior: They had no record of me cancelling my service on October 26th; the e-mail that I sent on November 8th requesting a list of itemized calls was entered into their system on Dec. 10th! This is "faster service?"

What if I had not sent the e-mail and instead had tried to call them or written a letter? It would be months before I receive anything from these people. As it is, it has taken MCI one month and 2 days to enter into their system that I requested an itemized list of calls, and I still have not received it - although they promised "within 20 days." I told them in no uncertain terms that I do not intend to pay them anything until

I receive a proper bill with my calls itemized, and that I had cancelled my service on Friday, October 26th, and therefore, do not expect to be responsible for any bills after that date.

This organization is the worst I have ever dealt with; totally incompetent, negligent and unprofessional.
