Ripoff dishonest fraudulent billing unprofessional goods held hostage criminal unethical emotional distress

I made a reservation for a move from the state of VA to NJ. When making my reservation I was quoted $800 for my move, based on the items I was relocating. I specifically asked for their moving policy, as I wanted to the move to be smooth and easy.

The policy for long distance moves was never explained to me in full. I was not aware my stuff was picked up one day and delivered later that week. It was not until my stuff was loaded on the truck that I was informed of that, as well as the fact that I would owe them an additional $782.50 to the $782.50 I had already paid for on a credit card.

I had given the relo specialist my items as a list and was given an $800 quote. I did not have any additional items, however the movers took stuff from my apartment that were not mine, which added weight. My total bill reached $1565, a much higher amount than the $800 quote. A set of sentimental dishes were also broken carelessly during the move, and their resolution was "Just call customer service."

Basically they took my stuff to their warehouse, which I was not informed that would happen, I drove to NJ myself, where I was moving, with NOTHING. I called the VP of Operations and he told me unless I give them the additional $782.50 in CASH ONLY, they will never give my my personal belongings they took from my apartment. When other calls and emails were placed, none were returned.
When my stuff was finally delivered, the movers were given directions to the wrong town first of all, I had to give them directions myself. They arrived without the weight ticket, that determined my price. I then had to drive to an office to get a fax of the ticket and my balance, which I could not read. The movers were instructed to "Take whatever money I had."

There was no compassion for my inconvenience and no compensation. I would like the additional $782.50 reimbursed, since by DOT law, I was only required to pay an additional 10% over the estimated price. This is the least for the stress, inconvenience and midleading info.
I would like $782.50 refunded, since the estimate was $800. A set of dishes were broken and I went through an extremely inconvenient move. I had to use extra time and $ trying to gather the additional $782.50 for my belongings as well as driving to an office to pick up a fax with my remaining balance, that should have been on the truck with the movers.

I also want reimbursement for my dishes and the number of calls on my cell phone to settle this horrific experience.
