I have been shopping at the Connecticut Avenue Washington DC CVS (#1354) for twenty years and have been served by the cashier Al for at least five years. Last night I purchased a pair of reading glasses, went across the street for dinner and realized the side piece was sprung and one of the nose pads was missing. I returned to exchange this pair for an undamaged pair. When I presented my receipt and the identical pair for exchange Al took out a magnifying glass and declared I was trying, in his words, to do a "switcheroo". He then accused me of being a theif and asked for my identification. I called for the manager who declared they would not have a damaged pair of glasses on the rack. I took him to the discheveled mess of a rack and pulled a series of broken glasses off the shelf at which point he made the swap.in 62 years, I have never been accused of being a theif for returning clearly damaged merchandise. All-in-all, a humiliating and disgraceful experience for a regular or any customer to be put through.
