Hi fellow writers,
I just want to share my experience with you so you won't fall into the same trap.
I was hired as a blogger to work for a fathering website project called AlphaDads.net. Patrick Vivian posted for writers online, and in a phone conversation promised $2500 a month to write for the site. I have dutifully filed my blogs but have not received any payment. At one point, I was given pay in my paypal account, but in a way that it was pending for a week, and then it disappeared.
This is not an isolated incident. Other writers report they have never been paid and the site appears abandoned.
When asked for payment, I have been given many reasons I haven't been paid. Then, when that failed, I have been threatened with legal action.
I would suggest not working for Mr. Vivian. When doing any writing, remember to ask for a deposit for your work and to be paid regularly. Also, Google any potential employer. These were all mistakes I shouldn't have made as a professional.
If, at any point, Mr. Vivian wants to make good on the money owed, I will be happy to delete this post and drop any pending legal action.
Thanks,
Craig
