I hired this company in March to do quite a bit of remodeling to my new home. First, the Fireplace (gas) was ripped out when I purchased the home. This company was supposed replace the fireplace with a 42" fireplace, they gave me a 32" fireplace. They redid the stone around it, that looks decent but not the style I asked for and the mantel I requested was to match the cabinets in my home, they are OAK and they built a cheap one out of some type of wood and primed it with white.
Another: they were supposed to put up a new railing complete with newel post, METAL spindles and the rail. They put a cheap looking newel post, $10 at Menards, wood spindles, and railing. They were not going to stain it! They did stain it and it looks horrible!
They were supposed to repair my garage door; the weather strip was bad, they put a $10 strip that did not stay on the door instead of springing for the $32 weather strip that would have solved the problem. I can still see light from under the door.
They installed a deck; the size was off, they used the wrong spindles, theres no strong lag bolts bolting it to my house and the bottom stair they installed was in two pieces! One of the pieces broke off and almost cost me a lawsuit when a man tripped on it!
They were hired to fix and prime all my walls. They left all the marks and dings; all they filled was the nail holes! They painted all the walls and called it done. They did not touch the closets and said to me Cant your boyfriend do them! I complained and they came back and filled and fixed a lot of marks but never came back to reprime the walls as they were contracted to do.
There is actually more things that they were hired to do! The whole time the owner, Dean White, kept pressuring me to pay him the money owed for the whole job when the job was not completed. Almost daily! This was extremely intimidating and caused me a great amount of stress.
They also did not clean up any drywall dust, left debris in my yard including the old wood from the previous deck including pop cans and bottles!
WORST PART OF THIS ALL: I paid them $4600.00 upfront and owed them $8000.00 after they were finished. I refused to pay them the money owed, and wanted to settle. I had to hire a lawyer. This Company has put a MECHANICS LIEN on my home! In addition, is charging $4000.00 more than contracted for things that I did not authorize them to do and the money they added on was nowhere near what was discussed, for the few things that we did discuss, and other things were added later. They doctored some of the paperwork that was presented to my lawyer by DEAN WHITE himself, to match what he wanted it to say. I have the originals. Ive seen the doctored contract myself! This man can be dishonest, has no heart or shame!
DO NOT HIRE! This could be YOU! I have been asking around and found out I am NOT the only person this company has done this to! This company has a HABIT of doing work to a home and making it so much money the customer cannot afford to pay the amount at the end of the project, and they end up OWNING YOUR HOME! Beware!!
