I was expecting an order from Dillard's to be delivered today and made sure I was home to receive it. I had heard nothing by 2 PM so I got online to track it at Fedex only to find that it had been delivered. Certainly not to me.
I called Dillard's and they told me it was delivered to the leasing office of my apartment complex. That is not the address that they were supposed to ship it to. It is 2 blocks away. The lady at Dillard's gave me the 800 number for Fedex and I called them.
The man I spoke with was very curteous and sympathetic but that isn't helpful. He told me that the drivers can leave packages at the leasing office when they are supposed to be delivered to apartments. They expect the people in the office to do Fedex job and contact the recipient. That is not what shipping means. Willfully misdirecting the package after charging high rates to ship it should be against the law. It would be if it was the USPS.
I feel very sorry for handicapped people who make the mistake of using Fedex. I will make sure that I never do business with anyone who uses Fedex again.
