The "rep" who opened this account met me face to face to sign the agreement. He misinformed me about the details of the contract I was signing; as a matter of fact, he never told me I was signing a long term contract. He did not provide a copy of the contract for me to read. It turns out this was a 3 year service agreement that cannot be terminated without a fee of over $400. Further, Payscape will not allow me to give them advance notice of termination.instead, they make you wait until 90 days prior to the contracts expiration, then provide them written notice. Otherwise, they automatically renew for another year. They have charged me $10/month for almost 2 years without providing ANY services!
The "rep" was affiliated with one of my clients and used this relationship to gain my trust. Meanwhile, he completely misrepresented the agreement he was getting me to enter. Again, he never disclosed the egregious terms of the "contract, " or informed me that there was any contract at all! I was never given a copy to read prior to signing.
I have used a couple of different merchant services providers in the past. They never tried to pull anything like this. The only reason I ever changed was due to rates or service issues. I am very satisfied with the service provider I have been using for the past few years. Payscape is major Ripoff. They are dishonest and seem to exist to make a merchants life more difficult.
