Billing Issues you can Bank on

Why can't Comcast get a bill to print accurately? Every bill I receive from them needs to be thoroughly scrutinized before I can make a payment each month. One time it took 4 months for over charges on Long Distance. "We can save you hundreds on long distance if you by this plan you get X# of minutes for only $X per month"

What they failed to indicate was that it was a discount plan and not a per month service plan for calls placed. HUGH DIFFERENCE, when shopping for services. Never did straighten it out, in the end I acquiesced and paid it. It was wasting more time each month trying to go over it each month with someone new, about a credit that was applied then appeared then removed then reappeared. My heads spinning just thinking about it again. After 4 months I finally got tied of the cat and mouse game and paid the dam $50.00 just to end the nightmare.

Now comes another $5.99 on my new bill, admittedly a lot small amount and probably something that would typically go unnoticed by most. Even me, however since my past experience has taught me to look at my bills closely I have to wonder what is this new charge for. When I called the service department to inquire about it no one could see the details on that bill. I just went online to pay the last bill which shows a credit for exactly $5.99. However there is no itemized bill since it hasnt printed, so there is no way of actually finding out what this other charge is for. Could this be the credit they gave me last month? Which was exactly for the same amount, but which had been removed the very day it was posted. I called last month to make a payment over the phone. When they wanted to charge me $5.99 for the privilege of making a payment, I told them to forget it I'd make the payment online.

I'm beginning to get a sense of de-ja-vu' just thinking about this $5.99 charge. I wonder what they are going to call it this time. I'm also going to be awake all night now wondering to myself, "Do I pay this and nip it in the bud now, or spend 10 minutes to reach a billing operator, who I then have to spend another 10 minutes with asking why or what this charge is for?" I shudder at the last thought.

Give a customer a credit, then recharge and rename it something else the following month, which is one of the many services Comcast is famous for. Then sit back relax and wait, eventually the customer will tire and just pay it. I know I'm not the only one who has experienced this. I've heard many stories about Comcast and their deceptive billing practices from other friends and family. Their sloppy way of bookkeeping and or their billing system is I feel deliberately flawed and BIG TIME. Why the FCC doesn't investigate them is a mystery to me, they obviously receive numerous complaints about them. Just read the ones in here over 156 complaints? At what point and how many does it take to get action?

They whittled down the phone company because it got to big, maybe it's time to do it to Comcast, there is no other option out there for many of us unfortunately. It's them or bad reception, I personally can't get anything else around here. Comcast is the only game in town and they are too comfortable with that knowledge, if you ask me.
