I work for an online billpay company, we then sell our services to banks to offer to their customers. A customer made a payment to this company of $5450.00. The company does not know why this customer is sending them money. Jenny Wong called us from the companies office to notify us of the situation. They've had this money since December, they cashed it the same day they received the check.
She called on 12-16 the day she received it to let us know that she had no idea who this man was that was sending the payment, and we send the gentleman a letter asking him to call her about the check. He didn't call her so she called back on 1-28, I asked her very nicely if she could just refund us the money and we will get it back to the customer and let him know what's going on. She said it was in their general ledger account and will be there until the customer calls them.
I asked what would happen to the money if the customer never called, she said it was none of my business, but they WOULD NOT refund the monies. I asked that she may want to try to contact the gentleman since her company had 5450.00 dollars of this mans money, she didn't want to. I asked again if the money could just be refunded, and she told me that would involve too much paperwork, it will just be in this general ledger account.
Basically they are stealing this money, and it does not belong to them!!! I couldn't believe that they would not refund this money that they have had for such a long time! This poor man could be ill or who knows what the situation is, but this company doesn't care one bit. They are just happy to have an extra 5450.00 to make interest off of! If anyone is thinking about doing business with this company DON'T, the employees are RUDE - Jenny, and unwilling to do any work. They need to learn how to do business properly!
