5th 3rd Bank
Lost a car payment for over a month, called everyday, threatened me, told me I was a liar. Did not bother to call when payment was found. Will not give specific payment information about my account!

My auto loan payment is 694.29 a month, I send in 700.00 every month.in September of 07 I called and spoke with a customer service rep and made a payment over the phone and was given a confirmation number. The following day I received a phone call from 5th 3rd stating that I had not made my payment. I gave the rep my confirmation number and was told that everyone gets the same confirmation number and that was not proof that I made my payment. I was also told that they would need proof from my bank that the money was transfered from my account to them. Two more calls came in that same day. I had to explain the same story to each rep as if my file was not updated.

The following day I went to my bank and obtained a copy of the draft showing that the payment left my bank and was sent to 5th 3rd. I faxed a copy of this to 5th 3rd. The next day I received a call from 5th 3rd asking about the payment. I once again explained the situation and told them that the proof had been faxed to them the previous day. The very next day I received yet another call asking about the payment AGAIN I explained the situation and was told by someone with very limited English that I was "obviously lieing about the payment and the fax" I asked to speak to a manager and was placed on hold for over 20 min and then mysteriously disconnected.

On the 6th day I called 5th 3rd and no one knew what I was talking about and there was no record of my payment or any of the calls. I re-faxed the copy from my bank. Over the course of 2 weeks more calles were made from me to them and them to me finally I asked who should my lawyer speak with about this. Later that evening I received a call from the "supposed" vice president of customer relations, he informed me that my payment has been sitting in a holdover account because it was keyed to the wrong account number. I asked how long would it take to straighten all of this out considering we were into a new month and a new payment was due. I was told that it would take about 7-10 business days and I would be contacted when it was resolved. A week later I received a late notice letter stating that if I did not make the missing payment and my current payment my car would be repossed!

I called 5th 3rd and asked the reason for the letter they claimed that they didn't know anything about the letter and that my "missing" payment had been credited to my account over a week ago. I asked why was I not notified and was told that it is not their policy to contact customers unless they did not receive a payment.

I am so fed up with 5th 3rd bank I could cry. I hate that I even bought the car at this point. I have tried to refinance with another bank but because they screwed up my credit with "late payments" no other bank will touch me. It's funny to me how I have several other bills that are paid on time in full but for some reason 5th 3rd is having a problem receiving my money. I feel like I am stuck with this poor service for the next 4 years until my car is paid off. PLEASE if anyone is filing a law suit I want in. What good are they anyway? They outsource their customer service to other countries while Americans are looking for jobs. The employees that they do have in America I have found to be rude and poor at their jobs!!! Let's hurt their business by posting things like this and dragging their name through the mud. I don't care if I never see a dime as long as I know 5th 3rd is spending money on representation and trying to keep the customers they have from jumping ship!!!
