Company requires upfront retainer to audit overcharges on utility bills - I was told we would save approx $4,000 over 2-3 year period - I had to copy all utility bills for prior and current years and send them future bills which they would review and apply for refunds of overcharges. I sent them 17 months of bill copies at the beginning of the contract and 3-4 months more a a few months later.
Contract was signed May I didnt hear anything from them so I started calling in Nov and didnt receive any calls back. I finally freceived a letter in Jan saying I was in violation of contract as i had not sent in monthly copies since Aug and had not sent in some forms. These "forms" had to do with energy conservation measures to reduce costs. I was only interested in how much in billing errors they had found on the 17 months of bills I had sent them. I again called and sent numerous emails asking for results on the bills they had - they absolutely would not return calls and kept to their mantra that I was in violation of the contract terms - to date have never once had the courtsey of a phone call to discuss and I'm out $1,800 in upfront retainer fee - I suspect they had done nothing with the bills I had sent them from May Aug and were hiding behind the fine print of their contract
