Gave me perscripton for another person 3 times (so far)

On 9-30 CVS Pharmacy had given me another person medicine. She has a name similar to my but I was assured 9-30 that all employees would be retrained so this mistake doesn't happen again. When I picked up this medicine I WAS NOT asked for my birthdate, phone number or address to identify the correct patient was getting this perscription. I was assured by the corprate office that they are retraining their staff so this error NEVER happens again.

However, on 12-15 the exact thing happened again. They sent me another check for $500.00 and an apology letter stating again they will retrain their people and it will NEVER happen again.

Again on 2-8-11 this all happen again. The only problem was this time I ingested the medicine. My husband was driving because I was having a God awful migrain headache and I asked him the name of the medicine out of curiosity. It didn't really matter because my migrain was so bad I just wanted the medicine for sudden relief.

I should note that I don't drink alcohol and I quit smoking New Years Day 2009. I take various vitamins and also medication for anxiety and depression which my doctor said was just fine.

The medicine I was given this time was for hypothyroidism (under active thyroid). I'll name just a few of the side effects because there are many. Mental/Mood changes, nervousness, shaking, chest pains, fast/pounding heart and seizures to name a few.

In a short time I was shaking and my heart felt like it was beating out of my chest. Somehow I made it to work. When I saw my boss later in the day she asked what was wrong with me because I was shaking and could barely drink a glass of water because of this. I left work early hoping some rest would help, but I ended up in the Emergency Room. My blood pressure was 179/120 which is sky high. My usual B.P. Is usually around 110/80 which is perfect. They did and EKG because they thought I was having a heart attack. Luckily it came out ok. I was released a couple hours later and my diagnosis was "medication side effect".

I'm just curious how many of you out there have had similar problems or other mistakes with a CVSpharmacy. Please let me know because I am taking them to court this time for negligence and bodily injury. They have got to be stopped before someone dies from taking the wrong medicine.

I wonder how many times the lady with the similar name got my medicine. I think I'll give her a call. Would love to hear from you.
