I employed Midway Moving and Storage to pack and store my household in 1996. I was told that day by the man in charge of the move that I did not need to be there that they would handle everything and would need me to sign papers to come back within 2 hours.
So I left and upon arriving this same man in charge shoved paper work in front of me stating that they were in a rush and everything was okay please sign. All of my things were on the truck so I signed. Later I looked at the listing of items named and found that they had not made any mention of large items and only counted boxes and not what was in them.
I was alarmed of this and reported it to the mangager at the time. I was told that they would check and call me back and then they did call and relieved me by stating yes we do have your dresser and television other things that were not mentioned. I ask the manager why that this professional mover did not take the time to write down things that they took and was not given an explanation.
Some time after this I needed to go into my storage and Midway gave me a difficult time then charged me $60 and stated I could only be in my storage room for about 30 minutes. So when checking for some things that I was trying to get out as a partial exit I could not find but did find where the packing movers had packed fine glasses and collectibles in with pot and pans and rolled up in throw in with boxes of clothes.
I did complain as I was not able to find most of the things I was looking for. I did have after that time make another partial exit whereas still to this date I have furniture that they initially taken appart and loss the screws so that I am unable to use my mirror's and dresser's properly.
The last moving men that brought my belongings had such a mess thrown together that they complained as well about the initial mover's in 1996 ability to pack items properly. I still have things in this storage but do not have the room is why some of my things are still in their storage and as well I am financially unable to move it somewhere else.
Still after reporting this to the management and trying so desperately to talk with the owner I was told he didn't and would not speak with me about the matter. I made many complaints about missing items and broken items to the management and they have never tried to resolve this.
I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau about Midway around October or November this year still Midway Moving and Storage has never tried to contact me and never has returned my phone calls. Although I was told to file a claim about the things that were missing and broken and I did still Midway Moving and STorage only continues to bill me month to month for the few left over things in their storage dismissing the many items that they broke and the many things here in my home deliver by their employee's without screws broken chairs etc.
