Getting AEP to work with you on your bill is worse than having teeth pulled. Our son was placed in the hospital due to a terminal illness he has that rewuired worked of several weeks to be missed. Had a medical wavier to help extend the bill and even worked out a payment plan to pay my bill out in installments.
This last month a shut off noticed was sent called and asked for an extension and even asked if they would allow me to pay half of the bill then and the remainder two weeks later. They rufused and said no to the extension! They said no to pay half now and half later! Their reasoning is because the last time our son was in the hospital and we had to do this we were $60.00 short of the agreement and for that very reason our power was being turned OFF!
Our son has to have power to recieve breathing tretment several times a day to keep infections from setting into his lungs. This was all explained to them. They do a hum thing over the phone treating you as if your telling a lie about your child being sick. AEP can treat and talk to you anyway they want and there is not a thing you or anyone can do. And they know this. Its not as if you can go down the street to another power company. And they relish in this because they know they are the ONE AND ONLY! Being the BIG DEVIL company of men in their black suits and the women in their uptight dress suits they walk all over you, talk down to you and just plain dont care who they hurt.
They make you chose between food, medicine and other important needs. You either do without one or the other. Lets talk deposits everytime I turn around they are adding another deposit on me. I am like where is the first one, second or third there is never a clear answer and all they do is get rude if you ask. I really think they send all empployees to rude school before being hired or the application ask " Can you treat people like crap" Someone has to step in and stop them they steal from all families, Sr citizens and this isnt right. They need tight rules placed on them.
You cant tell me they cant do this or that to help you. Because they can do what they want, if they want. And it isnt to help us. It is to take and take from us making their company richer and richer. Bigger bonus here for this one and that one. While we suffer. People have died from their power being shut off. A year or two ago an elderly mans was shut off and it was freezing outside. When his house was entered it was said that ice cicles was found on him and on his faucet at his kitchen sink.
My question, how come someone with power to stop them doesnt care? All we wanted was a chance to work it out and all they did was slam the door in our face. And we have always paid, just hit hard times and work had to be missed when son was placed in hospital for his terminal illness. What's a parent to do? Had to be with him, had to buy his meds. And to think AEP is heartless, they dont care, they just want your "MONEY". Lets ban together find soemone to make them stop being the wolf in sheep clothing. Thank your for listening.
