They break things, like furniture, picture glass, glassware, and don't care. John does not respond to emails or phone calls requesting compensation for things that his movers broke, and does not stand behind his word to take care of these problems. He wants you to pay him before you have a chance to unpack anything—don't hire him to move you and if you do, don't pay him until you have had time to unpack and find the damage that was done.
