During the year 1979, when the Iranian revolution took place, and the country turned to Islamic Republic, I left Iran for Israel, and Elias (Unfortunately my brother), asked me to take his savings (very small amount of money), with me to Israel, and invest it for him, until he will leave Iran later on.
After very long talks and mails, I conviced him and his family to leave Iran finally, in around 1994. Needless to mention that due to the laws in Iran his practice (Women Hair cut) was against the law, and he almost got arrested a few times, while earning a few dollars a day. Even after he moved to the United States, he and his family were very unsatisfied, and wanted to go back to Iran.
It took a lot of talks and convincing again, until he and his family finally reduced their requirements, and agreed to live in the U.S. Due to their very poor financial status, they lived in a one and half bedroom Basement in Queens, New York, while living on welfare.
During my many visits to the U.S. During 1995-1998, I urged Elias to take the money he gave me in 1979, and use it to buy an apartment, and build a business and improve his family's living standards. But he kept on asking me to invest his money for him, as he already had lost the rest of the money he had earned during 1979 - 1984 with bad investments and bad loans.
Around the year 1999, I finally was able to convince his wife to buy a house, and then he asked me to return his money. I returned him the whole money he had with me, along with the dividends of the investements I had done or him over the years.
Since I was earning extremely great salaries (I have been a High Tech Engineer since 1978), I even gave him some of my own money (Charity -TZEDAKA in Hebrew), in order to help him to build for his family, a high standard level of living, as I was already used to.
Elias and his family were very fond of me and very thankful, over the years. He and his wife, used to send me THANK YOU letters for all my efforts and the help I had provided them with.
They used to ask for my help, to handle their bank accounts and their money matters, as they did not know any English, nor they had any knowledge of banking systems and investment practices. No need to mention that Elias was thrown out of primary school, as he did not understand the simple mathematics and does not understand it up to today.
Elias and his wife Golda, asked me during my visits to the U.S. To bring them the money they started to save, and deposit the money in their bank account in Israel.
When Golda came to Israel around 1999 for her mother's funeral, she brought a large some of money. Although she was living in her parents' house in Israel, she DID NOT trust her own Brothers, her own Sister, her own Father, her Sister's Husband, and waited a few days with all the money she carried, during all the mourning, until I came and handed over the money to me, asking to deposit the money for her.
During the years, every time his daughters, Sara Abdyan (Sara Nowbakht), Lida Abdyan (Lida Abdyan - Leah ShemTov), and Touba Abdyan (Tova Abdyan) came to Israel for a visit, Elias and Golda, asked me to look over them and take care of them if needed.
During al these years, Elias and his wife were very grateful for my help, and had no complains, on how and why I had invested their original money which he gave me in 1979.
Even during the year Elias came to Israel, with his wife Golda Abdyan, and his Son Nouriel Abdyan, and with my help and my other sisters and parents, he was able to celebrate his Son's Bar Mizvah on our account (mainly mine).
All of sudden, after Elias decided that I have not been loyal to him, and asked me to exlain to him, how his original investment from 1979, did not turn to much much much higher returns.
I gave him an exact report (after we finished Celebrating his Son's Bar Mizvah), and after he asked for more money, my sister gave him the amount of $3'595 (Charity - TZEDAKA) for his full satisfaction. He signed an agreement that he is satisfied and has no more comments or complaints about how I had invested his original money (from 1979).
Once he returned to the U.S. He decided that he did not want to sign the agreement and had more objections. I invited him to come back, and resolve any issues that he feels unclear or not satisfied with. I told him if he finds any mistakes in my report, I will reimburse him.
He came back to Israel, during Summer of and went over all his bank accounts, all the unclear issues, and other issues he claimed, I had misreresented him. He found NO FLAWS, and he signed another agreement (second agreement) with the presence of our common Brother, Sister, and Brother in law, stating that there are no more complains. My Sister, Brother, and Brother in Law, have verified this agreement that was signed by Elias in front of them with their signature.
Elias went to his in-laws, Golda's Brothers, Father and Sister and told them that all the issues are resolve and he has no complaints.
But Guess what, after he returned to the U.S., he claims that he did not sign that agreement and our common Brother, Sister, and Brother in Law have faked his signature. He claims that a Graholog has given a verdict thta the signed agreement is not his signature.
I have told him, that despite the fact that he has signed two agreements that he has no complaints against me, if he proves that I owe him any money, I will gladly pay him back.
Well this is not the first time Elias has proven to be a crook. He also has stolen his parents' money for over 20 years, and does not return the money. For a full report on this issue lease refer to the following link:
