I contracted an interstate move for 8/14/09 with scheduled delivery in palm bay, florida on 8/19/09. On 8/4/09 at approximately 3pm jason duke came to my apartment to do a walk-through and to discuss moving details. At this time he represented himself as an "owner / manager. Two hours and forty-five minutes later, he claimed "you are doing what we are paid to do, stop packing immediately and let the movers do the rest." "you did a great job and kindly stop packing'" additionally, we discussed and confirmed the move date as 8/14/09, with destination delivery on 8/19/09 in florida and what i was expected to do to facilitate a smooth move. Specific problems / details follow: all-included moving arrived 24 hours before the scheduled/contracted time, on 8/13/09. I have a voice mail message from someone at all-included confirming that 8/14/09 was the date and the truck would be on time. Four workers showed up on on 8/13/09 saying they had a cancellation and were ready to go.
One of the workers stole my atm card and cash out of my wallet. The whole team left without saying a word without completing the job. They tried to deliver on 8/15/09,8/17/09 and 8/18/09; days ahead of the contracted delivery date. On 8.19.09 (contracted delivery date) no delivery. Management promised delivery on 8.20.09 in the morning; no delivery all day. Delivery occurred on 8.21.09. Several items were damaged or missing all together: box of custom window treatments ($7,500.00) sony vaio laptop computer ($700.00) box containing my collection of "john kennedy half dollars" totaling $300.00 artwork damaged beyond repair and/or missing craftsman tool box electric screwdriver and assorted tools (375.00) (3) hanging mirrors ($335.00) (6) area rugs ($600.00) (4) conran's bar stools ($400.00) (1) conran's five-shelf etagere ($335.00) (1) conran's two shelf side table ($100.00) (2) trunks ($300.00) (2) folding room screens ($200.00) speakers ($155.00) all of the above and the cost that i was quoted initially was not honored. It was quadrupled.
