I was one of the very first customers of Claire's Bowtique before she started to get large. She informed me that all her item turn around times are 5 days. I place my first order on March 19th & 2 weeks later I still did not have my order. Some of the items were needed for Easter so I contacted the owner Amiee after she claimed on her facebook store page that all items were sent out. She told me that she would meet me (we live an hour from each other). I had already paid shipping for my items, but still met Amiee 1 hour from my home. I didn't look through the items, but just trusted her. When I arrived home... I quickly realized I was missing several items, & several items were wrong or not at all what I ordered. It took me over an hour to go through my orders on the computer to see what I was missing.
About a week later Amiee offered a gift card for $25 and claimed you would get $80 in merchandise. A week after that I bought into the bow of the month club for $25 which meant that I would get one bow for the next 12 months. I never received one bow.
Amiee also decided to run a fundraiser for a friend of mine. My friends 3 mos. Old baby was in the hospital & ill. Amiee offered to run a benefit and claimed that she would sell $80 gift cards for $25 and that $10 of ea sale would go towards the baby. She sold a countless number of these gift cards. She told me she would send me a check so I could send it out with the care package for baby K. I waited and waited and the check never came. A week later Amiee didn't even ask me, but started running the same benefit over again and made a lot more money. When that ended I waited for the check, it never came. A week later she started running the benefit again and by this time I was growing impatient and was wondering if she was a scam. Sadly Baby K ended up passing away before I could send out the care package. I was very angry with Claire's Bowtique by this point and told her that she had BETTER send out the money raised for the family to help with funeral expenses. She told me that she sent the check to me that afternoon. Later she claimed she sent the check directly to the family. I told her that I had had enough and she better pray the family receives the check. The family did end up receiving a check, but definately not for the amount that was actually raised. And to top it all off... Everyone that bought the $80 gift cards for $25 didn't receive any of their merchandise.
Luckily for me, I demanded a refund through paypal before the 30 day window was up. Others are not so lucky. She is now telling her customers that the average wait is 4-5 weeks so by the time they realize she is a scam, it is too late to request a refund through paypal because it has to be filed within 30 days. Customers have waited 8-9 weeks sometimes before filing a complaint. It is beyond me how she has gotten away with this for so long! She deletes any negative comments you put on her facebook page to warn other customers, she deletes you from her fans so you can't comment, she claims every 2 seconds that she has an attorney and is building a case against all of us for slander. I hate to tell her that it is NOT slander when it is the truth! I'm terribly sorry for everyone who was ripped off by her, and I'm not sure what it will take before someone shuts her business down!
