This lady said to trust her, she would help me, take care of me, she said to call her with any problem. I was going through a terrible divorce, but what she did to me was almost as bad, she took advantage of the situation and ripped me off.
She overcharged for everything. She bills for hours, and hours of just reviewing files. Then doesn't keep you informed to what is happening in your case. She tries to make you feel stupid with her arrogant responses and snide comments. She was not concerned about me or my children, just when and how much she was going to get paid. I would ask her for advice and she would say well what do you think or what do you want to do, rather then give actual advice... She was the master at CYA.
Her bills don't come regularly, so you can't keep up with the charges. Then she sends 4 months together and demands payment immediately. She hired an assistant who just passed the bar and charged me $200 an hour for her to review files and to assist her, it was really to train her. I never gave my ok or even knew she had an assistant. She brought her along to mediation so I got charged for my attorney and her new assistant to watch and learn.
I was paying for 2 lawyers and there were still so many mistakes. Nancy charged me her time to fix the mistakes she made and to go back to court to mediate the changes. I asked the mediator/judge how could I have known about this mistake (to prevent it) and he said you weren't, but your couselor should have. There were so many mistakes that the divorce got overturned, she put my children in danger and she charged me for many more hours and fees to fix it. She would call me almost every day and ask when was I going to pay her and then charge or bill me for that phone call. Absolutely a ripoff...
I finally fired her and got a new attorney and paid him to fix it. Best decision I ever made was to fire her. My new attorney is so much better and can do the same type of work and filings for a fraction of the time and cost.
Hire someone else - get away from her fast.
