National Moving Network - Progressive Van Lines - AY Transport
Rip OFF Rip OFF

Sep 27th 2003 - Pickup Date

The movers charged 200 additional dollars for 4 flights of stairs ALTHOUGH i had said right in the beginning that I have 4 flights of stairs and for National moving network to include that in my quote. Stuart Sheinfield who gave me the initial quote of 1155 said that all the stairs were inlcuded part of the quote but while pickup I was CHARGED 200 dollars. I had fight for it and they reduced it to 160 dollars. The file now gets transferred to PROGRESSIVE VAN LINES. No one in National moving network will respond once the pickup has taken place. Oh! And Stuart Sheinfield who is the first sales contact is unreacheable once he charges 500 dollars deposit

Between Sept 28th - October 10th. (Waiting time 14 days)

No news at all on the delivery. Called the company many times and spoke to ALANA (Worst customer service representative I have spoken to - very rude willnot give any direct answers to your questions) Even though they promised 24hrs notification of delivery, I was not given any calls until I called asking for the delivery date.

October 10th - Final delivery 14 days after pickup from Maryland to Florida

The movers initially said they will in between 5 - 7pm but eventually landed at 11PM in the night waking up the whole neighbourhood. The Rip off begins again... The story...

They came in a 32 foot high monster truck that cannot be driven into the apartment complex, they walked down to me and said that i will be charged additional 250 dollars in CASH and should also arrange for a smaller truck in the morning for the delivery into my apartment. The also complained of the one flight of stairs at destination and said they will charge additional for that too.

Also threatened that if they left then then it could take several days before the things can be delivered to me.

Fortunately for me I had a friend with me who had 200 dollars in his pocket and a station wagon to shuttle my things to the apartment. They said they want all the money upfront and will not deliver the things otherwise. So my friend called the Cop and made him the witness.

They then took the addtional cash of 200 dollars and dragged all my things to my apartment, dropped my box spring mattress with a large noise flat on the floor outside the apartment. Not sure of the internal damages to the mattress.

All the above with final delivery caused 360 extra dollars from initial quote and a lot of STRESS that I am still recovering.

THE BIGGEST NIGHTMARE was finally over but am I going to have to fight for the money too??? What a scam
