We used Portrait Innovations for our son's 2-year photos. The studio was highly recommended by friends and family. We were very pleased with the staff and the pictures that were taken were great! One problem - the CD they offer that contains all your photos is provided in low resolution which means it's basically worthless. The CD comes free with a $100 purchase of pictures, which at the time seemed like a GREAT deal... WRONG!!! They suck you in and you are basically forced to spend money, you receive a ton of prints that you can do much with and a worthless CD. Really, how many prints do you need? One for your wall, one for the grandparents and that's about it. No one likes wallets anymore!
We are used to paying anywhere from $150-$300 using, or local photographers and receiving a high resolution CD. We don't mind paying more money if you can get the high res CD in order to do whatever you please with the pictures. We will even pay $100-$150 for the CD and no prints! You can have that CD forever and use it to make prints, calendars, posters, cards, etc., etc.
We are VERY upset because we always load all photos onto a website where friends and family from out of state can go in and order prints at a low cost. That is not possible now.
We made a phone call to Corporate Headquarters and was told there was nothing they could do... They do not offer a high res CD, not even for an extra fee. We made a formal complaint with the company, but needless to say, we will never use Portrait Innovations again unless they change their policy regarding the photo CD. Get with the 21st Century Portrait Innovations! Sorry, allowing you to give a competitors name would instigate others to just file against their competition, to only come back later to suggest their company. Plus, if you post a competitors name more than likely they will show up on search engines as a Rip-off! - - your comments on this policy are welcome.
