I contracted this moving company to move my belongings out of state from NY to FL. They gave me a reasonable quote and stated there would be no hidden charges. The movers arrived and loaded all the belongings on the truck and put stuff into their boxes when it did not need to go into boxes. They taped everything up from top to bottom, overusing an incredible amount of their moving supplies. This, they did not tell you until after wards that you would be charged over 100% market value for the supplies. They then gave me the contract asking to sign it, which was $1600.00 more than what was quoted. This was for the moving supplies and some other charges that I could not understand because the gentleman did not speak very good English. Eager to leave to catch our flight, I signed the contract.
4 days later, the truck arrived with only a PORTION of my belongings. The drivers did not know what was left behind but expected all the money in CASH before they unloaded the truck. As this is incredibly an unfair act to pay for all my belongings when some was left in the warehouse. I called the office and the "office manager" was extremely rude and unhelpful. I worked out a deal that I would give them 90% now and the rest when they brought back the other half of the stuff.
Over 3 weeks later, after endless conversations on the phone and a backache from sleeping on the floor, I received the other half of my belongings. The drivers arrived at 8pm. They began unloading my belongings into my garage as I would not let them enter my house that late at night as I was alone with my two little children. I had to tell them that some of the merchandise was not mine. They had no clue what they were doing. As they began to leave I noticed some things of mine missing like my four patio chairs and my daughters Dora Kitchen, etc. They stopped the truck and just remembered they put it with another delivery in the middle part of the truck and retrieved it. I then mentioned that I still was missing more boxes. They stated they couldn't see really well because it was dark and they had to get going so they would look the next morning and if they found them, they would send them down on another truck. After calling, they could not locate my other stuff.
What is missing is all merchandise that is very sentimental to me like photos, my daughters baptism dress, all my personal papers, titles, registrations, tax returns, etx. Most likely, they gave it to another customer. After calling the office, they refused to help me and said to submit a claim.
Not only that, they managed to scrape up and dent almost all the furniture, even though they bubble wrapped everything. They broke my bed frame and told me to go to Home Depot and buy Gorilla Glue and fix it. Very unprofessional and wrong mannered individuals.
Do Not Do Business With These People. No one deserves to go through what my family has went through with this company. My 3 yeard old daughter cries EVERYDAY because she wants her piggybank, "the perfect one" she says, as everyday, I gave her coins to put in it when she was good. I bought her a new one, but she still cries for the old one. Again, it is sentimental. How can you get back the memories from the photos, her dress, and the headache with SSA, DMV to get all new documents, change bank accounts, as my checkbooks were missing, etc.
