Cricket is great if you live, work and stay near a Corporate owned Cricket dealer. If you do not... Do not purchase.

I bought a phone from a Cricket store in Baltimore and had it activated in Baltimore. It worked fine until I traveled to Ohio... Had to be re-activated. Then I moved to California and then it had to be re-activated.

Next, I purchased a phone over the internet from MyCricket.com. After several phone calls, ok... 7 calls to tech support and customer service my online purchased phone is still not activated. It cannot be activated over the 3G wireless network, because secretly Cricket is not 3G. They are still first generation... Which means I have to be near a Corporate owned Cricket dealer in order to activate my phone and to be given a phone number. Outrageous! Not to mention the customer service reps and tech support folks were totally ok with telling me to drive 2-3 hours from my home to another city & just to activate a wireless phone!

Now that is laugh out loud funny. If this company was 3G wireless wouldn't they be able to activate the phone wirelessly? Cricket is not ready for the big leagues... Is expensive as is. But they have this wireless thing in the bag. Sorry, allowing you to give a competitors name would instigate others to just file against their competition, to only come back later to suggest their company. Plus, if you post a competitors name more than likely they will show up on search engines as a Rip-off! - - your comments on this policy are welcome.
