My wife paid for one year of XM Radio by check in order not to give them her credit card number. Now, 4 months after her subscription has expired, she had been turned over to a collection agency by XM Radio. The reason? They (XM) say that by subscribing to their service you allow them to renew your subscription for the same term as previously ordered. So they extended her service by one year and may have billed us, however because we did not wish to continue XM we did not open their mailings.in an attempt to collect $40.57 for a service we did not order XM has turned my wife over to a collection agency. She did not want to continue the service and certainly did not authorize the extension of the service. I don't know if this practice is legal, however it certainly is unethical. So, buyer beware -especially of XM Radio.
