I purchased a Sirius satellite radio from Sirius four years ago. I was sent a special offer from Sirius for a lifetime subscription. They informed me that it would last for a lifetime or three units. I thought this was a great deal until my radio was stolen. They fail to tell you that a $75.00 transfer fee is required even if your radio is stolen. I am not upset that the fee is required, but this fee should have been disclosed beforehand.
To make matters worse since the merger, I wonder if this is an XM policy or Sirius policy. I went to the store to purchase to what I thought was a Sirius radio, but when I had the unit installed in my car and called Sirius to turn on the service. They stated that this was an Sirius/XM radio and I would have to purchase A Sirius radio. Of course they tried to sell me another radio. I took the radio back to the dealer and purchased a Sirius radio (alone with the additional cost of labor). I contacted Sirius again to have the service turn on, they tell me that I have to pay a $75.00 transfer fee. Again they had several times to say something about the fee. They chose to do nothing, and try to gauge you with more fees.
