Rude and stupid at the same time. They will try to collect a debt and threaten you when the insurance paid it two months ago, and then hang up when you call them out so they think they dont look stupid

I had to take my daughter to the emergency room in July. The next day, I went to the local DHS office and put in the application for an ARKIDS medical card to pay the bill. They said it would go back 3 months, so it would cover the bill even though I didnt have insurance when I had taken her to the hospital.

Not even two weeks later, I recieved a collection call. I told them that we were waiting for my daughters medical card and then it would get paid. About 3 weeks later, I got the card in the mail. I immediately called the hospital and gave them the card number. The lady at the hospital said ok, put me on hold and then never got back on the phone. I assumed it was taken care of as I hadn't heard anything else from anyone.

November 26th, collection letter from Franklin Collection Services, Inc. Stating that I still owe money. At this point, I'm like WTF? B/c I thought that was paid for. SO I had planned on calling the hospital and double checking this with them, but then today I get a phone call from who??? That's right, Franklin Collections.

Lady #1: I told her that I had already given the hospital the insurance info, but to hold on and I would get the card and give it to her... She interrupts to say this stupid sentence: "Just because you give the hospital the insurance information and tell them to bill them doesnt mean they have to do it..." (really, are we 4 years old here?)... So, I told her yes, when I give the information to them, and they say it's going to be taken care of, then yes, I would assume that they were going to file the information. She yelled at me and said that my name was on the bill and I better pay it, and then hung up.

Lady #2: I called back. I was very calm. I started explaining to her everything that happened and SHE says this stupid remark, "The insurance has already been applied to the account. They paid $0." Okay... If somebody pays ZERO dollars, wouldn't this mean that NOTHING had been applied... I thought so. SO I asked to speak with a manager, and she says, "Pay your bill, you're rude, and you're yelling"... Which I wasn't yet, but then I decided to and screamed at her to get me a manager to which she thought she had to tell me that "all calls are monitored and recorded". She was a real smart cookie.

Lady #3: A manager... Explained everything to her... Also explained that I was on a prepaid cell phone and that I didnt have very many minutes... After going through everything with her, she says that the insurance wasn't filed, and that it was too late to be filed and that I would have to pay the bill. I asked her "how I was going to pay the bill when I have 6 kids to take care of. That is what the insurance was for that was supposed tohave paid for it already." she asked me if I was working, and I said yes, but once again, I have six kids to take care of and we were about to move so I didn't have any extra money. And she says "well, would you like me to call your work and verifiy place of employment, and get the money that way"... Are you serious? So I told her to go ahead, and that once again, I was about to move within a week and wont even be there... I think she felt stupid... So she said "well, let me place you on hold so that you can get ahold of yourself" didn't I tell her that I didn't have very many minutes? SO once again, I had to remind her and tell her that I didn't have enough minutes for that bullsmack and hung up...

Now I'm thinking that the hospital didnt file the insurance, so I go up there, and wouldn't you know... ARKIDS paid it in full at the beginning of October... So the hosptal billing lady called Franklin Collections right in front of me, and had to argue with the lady about whether it had been paid or not and then after establishing that had to argue with her to make her remove my account...

Do not give your money to this company... All they are doing is trying to scam you and it doesn't matter if it has been paid or not... They are still going to threaten you and try to get more money out you!!!
