Cancel magazine or cancel future billing

I have received 4 magazines for only paying shipping and handling for 1 year.
After 1 year I cancelled all 4 magazines through their automated phone system. I even received confirmation numbers. That was my mistake. Even though I cancelled my subscription, what I really did was cancelling according their rep.
What's future billing?
When they say they cancelled your future billing, don't be fooled. You are still charged. YOU DID NOT CANCEL SUBSCRIPTION.
What a dirty business trick.
