I did a magazine subscription that was paid for for 2years through irl of peoria. I made three payments of 39. Oo for this 2 yr subscription. I get a call from this company in august about doing a magazine subscription. I told them no thank you i already have a 2yr subscription of magazines, and didn't need anymore.
The sales person, said that it would be 18 a month, and i would not have to pay on the account until my first 2yr subscription was through. I thought about it said okay, asked her again when we were doing the recording i will not have to pay until my 2yr subscription was up, she said yes. 2 months later i get a call from them saying i was 2months behind on my payments, i then explained to them that i was told by their sales person that i would not have to pay until 2yrs from now. They told me that was wrong. I then told them to cancel it, because they had not sent me any magazines at all, because it was not suppose to start until 2 yrs from the subscription that was already started. She told me that i would have to pay the $18 to cancel the subscription which i did, didn't hear another word about this account until i got a collection agency tracking me down 4yrs later saying i owe them $326 for a magazine subscription, and they could settle it for $198. I told the collection agency they could send the account back to the original creditor, because i was not going to pay it, because it was cancelled. They are constantly trying to get in touch with me, have even called me on my job, and told them i could not get personal calls trying to get me to pay for a service that i never received, and that i cancelled 2yrs before it started, and they gave me that bs about them paying it up front. This company is still up to no good, if you get any kind of magazine subscription, i guarantee they will find out and try to trick you into getting a subscription added on to the one you have supposedly!!!
